That Time I Lived in a Haunted House – My True Life Ghost Story

Haunted mansion

Happy Halloween everyone.  In just a few days, the holiday will be upon us.

In the spirit of the season, I want to switch things up a little and tell you a ghost story.  It’s not just any ghost story though; it’s about things that actually happened to me personally.

So imagine we’re sitting around a campfire.  Sit back and relax, as I tell you about a time when I lived with a ghost.

Finding the Beauty in Everyday Life

Andy Warhol, Campbell's Soup Cans with viewer

Sometimes the bad parts of the world seem so overwhelming.

There are so many sad and depressing things going on in the news. People are killing other people, a natural disaster is destroying someone’s home or the economy is back in the dumps.

Even outside of the news, I see sad things. Every day I walk past the homeless as they beg on the streets. It’s hard not to look at them and feel as if the world is an uncaring, ruthless place.

It makes it hard to see the beauty going on around me.

I’m Going to Morocco!

Hassan II Mosque, Casblanca, Morroco

It’s still crazy for me to think about it, but in just a little over a week, I’ll be on a plane flying to Morocco where I’ll be living for the next two months. My 7 Links – A Look Back

"7"

A few weeks ago I was nominated by Liv from The World is Waiting and Lois and Chichi from We Are Sole Sisters to take part in the seven links project by Tripbase.  I think the idea is great, but I haven’t had time to participate until now.

It’s a really simple idea.  Nominated bloggers look through their old posts and place seven of them into seven different categories.  It’s a unique way to gain an insight into a blogger’s perspective of their work.

How to Become a Polymath

Vitruvian Man

Whether you call them Renaissance men, polymaths or universal people, one thing remains true: they are people who know a lot about a wide variety of subjects. And even though specialization is unthinkable to them, they’re not really jack of all trades. I think of them as people who develop their mental prowess as much as possible.

And you can be one too. All it takes is a little drive and curiosity. By becoming a polymath, you’ll be following in the footsteps of other notable people such as Leonardo da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin and Aristotle.

2010 in Review

Happy new year! I hope 2010 was as good a year to you as it was to me. We’re not just starting out in a new year now, but a new decade. And in the spirit of things, I want to take some time to go over some of the highlights from last year and the direction I’m setting for this blog in the new one.
