Does Having a Sense of Destiny Help Create Success?

destiny

Sometimes I get the feeling I am destined to do something great. It’s hard to explain, but it’s as if I’m meant to do something before I die and I don’t know quite what that is yet. Most of the time, I shrug it off as my own ego. I’m not someone who really believes in fate.

But there does seem to be something beneficial about having a sense of destiny. I’ve heard many people claim their key to success was their undying belief that they would make it. It’s as if they knew they would succeed no matter what.

How to Be an Inspirational Communicator

'Peeking Through', Argentina, El Chalten, Mt. Fitzroy

One of the dictionary definitions of inspire is “to communicate to the spirit”.  I think that’s about as perfect a definition as you can get for the word.  If you’re like me you get a big uplifting feeling inside you, which is hard to describe, when you listen to someone who inspires you.

And even though everyone can communicate, most people can’t communicate in an inspirational way.  That’s too bad since inspirational communication would be a great skill to learn.  You’d not only be reaching someone’s head, you’d be reaching into that person’s soul.  That can be a powerful skill to know.  So what can you do to really reach others in that way?

The Biggest Reason Finding Happiness is So Hard

Colours

I think most people would say that finding happiness is one of their biggest goals in life.  You can see this reflected in the amount of money people spend on books, seminars and talks all promising to help you find a happier way of living.  The pursuit of happiness was even written into the US Declaration of Independence.

There are some people who can find happiness just a little better than others.  But that doesn’t mean it is easy to get.  Happiness is an abstract concept; not something you can easily buy off the shelf in a store.  Plus, there’s a little quirk about human nature that makes finding happiness harder than it should be.

Why I Love the Backpacking Experience

Compañeros de Viaje

I took my first backpacking trip in 2003. Since then I’ve hauled my backpack around the world to see many unique places and meet many interesting local people in those countries. My backpacking travels have led me to some of the most memorable experiences of my life making it a hobby I’m extremely grateful for picking up.

Initially, my motivation to backpack was so I could see the world as cheaply as possibly. The world is such a big place and I want to see it all. Of course, seeing the world and meeting the local people there is still the biggest motivator for me to travel. But what I didn’t expect was how much I’d like the whole backpacking experience itself.

How One Experiment Can Make You Famous

Pezzi di vita che diventano viaggio (Far East Film Festival 10 - 2008)I’m fascinated with the movie Super Size Me. The idea of eating nothing but McDonald’s food for an entire month just to see what happens instantly piqued my curiosity. But what I didn’t realize while I was watching it was how good and versatile the general idea of it is.

At its core, the movie is about someone who took an idea, turned it into a project and reported the results. You can take that format and fit it into so many different areas. In fact, many people have already done that successfully. And if you know what you’re doing, you can too.
